Our approach
Wellbeing begins at home.

Silver Wellbeing is a home-first, community-centred approach to healthy, active aging—anchored around the heart of the home: the kitchen table.
We bring together nourishing food, smart cooking methods, practical kitchen adaptations and gentle movement to support older adults to remain active, confident and connected in everyday life. Our work is grounded in dignity, agency and the belief that support should help people continue to do for themselves, rather than take over.Founder
Founded by Siew Eng.

Silver Wellbeing is shaped by Siew Eng’s lifelong connection to food, family and the ways everyday home life can support confidence, dignity and belonging.
Her work brings together professional experience in aged care, nutrition and community wellbeing with a deep respect for the familiar meals, skills and relationships that help people feel at home. Why we began
Food is more than nutrition.
A way back to participation
At a residential-care cooking activity, a resident who had withdrawn from food and group activities stayed to make spring rolls alongside the others. Familiar ingredients, purposeful hands and a shared task created space for a warm, meaningful moment of connection.Memory, love and belonging
Another resident shared a family idea for using a ripened fig in soup. It was a simple reminder that familiar food carries culture, memories and the confidence to continue contributing to the meals we share. The story behind our work
Food, family and continuity.
Silver Wellbeing grew from a life shaped by food, family and three generations gathering around familiar meals. The smells of ginger and garlic, Hainanese chicken rice, herbal broths with goji berries and red dates—these were everyday expressions of safety, comfort and home. Those traditions continued through family life: teaching children to poach chicken, make broth and prepare the dishes that brought everyone back to the table. Today, sharing those skills with the next generation remains a thread of continuity and care. That lived experience informs a simple conviction: familiar meals can be practical, relational support that ripples through families, workplaces and communities.
Small changes, familiar joy
When Siew’s mother-in-law could no longer enjoy the festive bakchang rice dumplings she had always made for the family, it brought worry and a sense of loss. A simple change to one ingredient meant she could enjoy them again. The relief was shared by the whole family: one familiar meal helped bring her back to the table for the Bakchang Festival, a tradition held at her home.Experience that informs our work
From practice to a home-first model.
